Pre-Conference Retreat

Each year Play Like a Champion hosts a Pre-Conference spiritual retreat for those interested in attending.

The 2022 Retreat is Planned for Thursday, June 16, 2022

*Registration for the Retreat is available during full conference registration. If you have already registered for the conference and would like to attend the retreat, please click here to enter your information and click the box designating retreat attendance.

The 2021 Pre-Conference Retreat theme was rooted in the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola, who founded the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Jesuit spirituality teaches that we encounter God in all things. All are welcome to this annual retreat, which offers the opportunity to reflect upon how God's grace is present in and through specific athletic moments, while strengthening our resolve to become authentic sport ministers serving athletes. The 2022 Retreat is scheduled for Thursday, June 16th. More information will be available in early 2022 and registration will be available by checking the appropriate box during full conference registration.

What is the Pre-Conference Retreat?

Coaches and sport administrators pour their hearts and souls into their vocation to serve young athletes. The Play Like a Champion retreat offers us all a much needed opportunity to take time out for reflection and spiritual nourishment. Taking place annually on the Thursday prior to the Play Like a Champion Sports Leadership Conference, this retreat on sport and spirituality provides an opportunity for prayer, reflection and community-building around our shared mission of understanding sport as ministry. The retreat concludes with mass, dinner and planned social activities.

Attendees Engage in Discussion During 2018 Retreat

"I had an incredible time at both the retreat and the conference; it was one of the more meaningful times of my life! I truly feel that I will become a better teacher, coach, and person due to the people that I met and the messages that were given."
