All coaches who attended the PLC Sports as Ministry coaches clinic in 2006-2007 are asked to complete an online recertification course two years after the initial training. This course is a review of the original clinic as well as an advanced training opportunity in new coaching strategies that focus on physical, moral, and spiritual development of young athletes. This course is offered in partnership with the Satellite Theological Education Program (STEP). STEP is an outreach program at the University of Note Dame that offers quality theological education to pastoral ministers and adult Catholics through online courses.
The 2-year recertification requirement can also be satisfied by attending an interactive PLC Advanced Workshop presented by Local Certified Trainers. These interactive workshops are titled "Effective Coaching Techniques" and "Parents as Partners." |
