The Play Like A Champion Today™(PLC) Educational Series has been crafted by leaders in the fields of education, psychology, coaching, and ministry to elevate the culture of youth sports through child-centered educational practices. PLC teaches coaches, parents, and youth sport administrators through research-based, child-centered educational practices that foster moral, social, and spiritual development.

All PLC programs share these important characteristics:

  • PLC is research-based.  Every aspect of the program is designed using the best “child-centered” practices supported by years of research into character and spiritual development through education.
  • PLC is delivered primarily through personal, interactive workshops and consultation with PLC staff members.
  • PLC offers the support, tradition, and resources of academic and athletic excellence that mark the University of Notre Dame.
  • PLC is centered around the principles of justice, tolerance, cooperation, respect, and solidarity.
  • PLC establishes ownership on the part of the school, parish, or league and its key personnel through an integrative approach that involves the full range of stakeholders – coaches, parents, administrators and, ultimately, the athletes.
  • Through the Play Like A Champion Today™ Educational Series, program partners are in the vanguard of a movement to transform the culture of youth sports and better fulfill their educational mission by fostering youth development through sports.
